NORWICH - Recently ascended to the number one spot in the latest Max Preps New York State Class B poll, Norwich lived up to that ranking with a non-league sweep of Unadilla Valley, 25-5, 25-11, 25-8.
Norwich (12-1), winners of 12 straight matches, showed balanced offense and defense across the board.
Megan Lindridge served a team-high 10 aces, Maddy Morris finished with 13 assists, and Lauren Squires led the hitters with 12 kills.
UV (8-2) dropped just its second match of the season. Maddi Sayles had eight digs and three kills for the Storm.

SOUTH OTSELIC - One day removed from a 7-1 loss to Stockbridge Valley, the Vikings girls nearly sprung the upset dropping a one-goal defeat to the same Indians club.
Katie Kenyon scored unassisted in the first half for OV after a scramble in front of the goal following teammate Allie Marsala's drive to the corner and crossing pass to middle of the penalty box area.
"(We) played our best game this season against a very good Stockbridge team," said OV coach Cindy Buerkle. "The defense really stepped up."
OV hosts McGraw Friday in its season finale.

DERUYTER - In a non-league matchup against Central Counties League stalwart DeRuyter, Sherburne-Earlville gave up a barrage of first-half Rockets offense in a loss on Wednesday.
Gavin Richardson had a hat trick for DeRuyter, which scored all four of its goals in the opening 40 minutes.
Sherburne-Earlville (3-11-1) wraps up its season Friday when it faces Holland Patent.
