Oxford-Greene fifth at Stan Elinsky Tournament
DEPOSIT - Despite sending a slightly short-handed lineup, Oxford-Greene's wrestling team placed fifth out of 15 teams at the Deposit-hosted Stan Elinsky Wrestling Tournament.
Unlike traditional bracket tournaments, the Elinsky tournament grouped wrestlers in a pool play format with pool play winners advancing to the semifinals bracket round, and runners-up going to a wrestleback scenario.
Five Greene wrestlers came away with top-three finishes led by Aiden Marcin's championship at 126 pounds.
"I'm very happy with our performance," said Oxford-Greene co-head coach Craig Tefft. Tefft shares coaching duties with Greene graduate Jesse Fendryk. "We wrestled very well, and every one of our wrestlers got at least one win."
