Sectional bowling champs
Congratulations to Sherburne-Earlville’s varsity bowling team for winning the Section 3 Class C-D team championship this past weekend at Strike-N-Spare Lanes in Mattydale.
S-E finished the two-day tournament with 5,525 total pins, edging runner-up Cooperstown by 109 to top the 10-team field in Class C-D. The Marauders also placed second to New Hartford in Division II, which includes teams from classes B, C and D.
S-E’s Trace Kane finished 12th in Division II with a 198.33 average over six games, which included scores of 222, 211 and 210. Teammate Olivia Fehlner (225, 205) was one spot behind with an average of 197.00.
Mason Goedel (211, 204) placed 30th at 184.17, and Nick Fontaine (223, 204) was 33rd at 183.17. Gabe O'Dell (208) and Jacob Jenkins (169) also competed.
