Bowling: UV girls win school's first Class D sectional title

VESTAL – Just five years removed from starting the school's bowling program, Unadilla Valley captured its first sectional bowling championship winning the Class D team title on Saturday at Midway Lanes in Vestal.
Lead-off bowler, Pyper Kneale, led the Storm - winners of the MAC division championship this season - with a 570 series. Kneale's total was third overall amongst Class D bowlers.
"For such a young program to get a sectional championship, it's pretty special," said UV head coach Matt Bleyle.
Brynn Grant had a 532 series and Phalen Hill rolled a 502 for the Storm.
Friday, Unadilla Valley's boys placed third in the Class D tournament behind overall champion Hancock.
The Storm girls and boys will compete in this weekend's state qualifier hosted by Waverly.
