SOFTBALL
Sidney 5, Bainbridge-Guilford 2
SIDNEY – Opportunistic offense was the key to Sidney’s victory over Bainbridge-Guilford on Wednesday afternoon.
The Warriors managed just one hit, but took advantage of three total errors from the Bobcats, while also advancing on the basepaths at every turn.
Kayla McEwan had the lone hit for the Warriors – a triple – and scored one run.
That backed the pitching of Sidney’s Ava Cirigliano. Cirigliano fanned 13 B-G batters and allowed just two hits.
B-G hurler, Gabby Cuozzo, was nearly Cirigliano’s equal picking up 10 strikeouts.
Celeste Baldwin and Ally Catasso collected the Bobcats’ lone hits.
