Greene Softball shuts down Afton

GREENE– The Greene softball team defeated Afton 15-0 in five innings on Wednesday afternoon, improving to 9-0 on the season.
Greene's Payton Yahner got the start on the mound, going five innings with a one-hitter and struck out 12 batters. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a 2-run triple in the second and a single in the third.
Behind Yahner, Olivia Kennedy had an RBI triple. DJ Lora and Adreana Romano both had a hit a piece in the win.
The Trojans also took advantage of Afton's wild pitches, where they were able to score most of their runs including four in the first.
Greene travels to Walton for a game Friday afternoon with a 4:30 p.m. start.
