Afton baseball falls to Deposit-Hancock in Championship

SIDNEY – On Friday, the Afton Crimson Knights took on an undefeated Deposit-Hancock baseball team for the Section IV Class D championship held at Sidney High School. Afton suffered a season-ending 11-0 loss to the Eagles.
The Eagles shutdown Afton for the third time this season with nine strikeouts and scored nine runs in the seventh to put the game away.
Justin Reeves pitched five innings for the Crimson Knights with three strikeouts in the loss.
The Afton Crimson Knights finished 9-8 on the season with big wins over Charlotte Valley and South Kortright on the road to the championship. Congratulations Afton and good luck to the seniors.
