Otsego County man arrested on rape charges
ONEONTA – On September 17 New York State Police at Oneonta Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested Francesco Carotenuto, age 56 of Schenevus, for the class “B” felony of rape in the first degree.
Carotenuto was previously arrested on charges for the class “D” felony of Promoting Sexual Performance by a Child and Possessing Sexual Performance by a Child on September 8, 2022.
After a further investigation, Investigators learned that Carotenuto forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with a victim several years ago. Carotenuto was in jail for the previous charges, he was processed and returned to jail.
