FOOTBALL: UV can’t catch up to Moravia
NEW BERLIN – On Friday, the Unadilla Valley Storm football team suffered a 66-22 loss to Moravia.
Moravia’s game plan was strong from start to finish as they scored 28 points in the first quarter and 24 in the second quarter to give them a 52-14 lead at the half. UV held Moravia to 14 points in the second half, but could not push themselves to attempt a comeback.
The Storm’s scoring drives came from a 54 yard touchdown run by Trent Zvirden with a successful two-point conversion. Zvirden scored again off an 48 yard touchdown pass by Wyatt Meade. Quarterback Blake Wright also threw a deep pass to Dalton Allen for an 85 yard score.
Meade, who is the Storm’s utility player that can kick, play Quarterback, and defensive back, had a fumble recovery on defense to go along with five tackles. Brandon Miller made seven tackles in the loss.
UV (1-2) heads to Greene on Friday to take on the Trojans for a 7 p.m. matchup. The Trojans will be celebrating Homecoming.
