OXFORD – On Saturday, Oxford hosted Morris in a non-league matchup where they suffered a 6-2 loss.
After being shutout at halftime 3-0, Oxford came out strong in the second half, where they had more confidence on offense. The Blackhawks earned a few corner kicks that also helped them in the process. On one corner kick, John Rovente found teammate Gordon Smith who scored off the pass.
Jackson Moore also scored for the Blackhawks after the goalie and a teammate collided. Moore was able to tread through and score with 12 minutes remaining.
But despite second half efforts, Morris was too powerful and could not be stopped as they scored three more goals. Oxford’s Kayden Renfrow made 17 saves in the loss.
