GIRLS SWIMMING: Greene achieves best times in loss to Lansing
GREENE – On Tuesday, Greene hosted Lansing in a non-league meet, where they fell short 78-63. Despite the loss, the Trojans girls swim team continues to set best times.
Senior Madison Pavlovich achieved a new season-best in the 200 individual medley. Her new season-best time was 3:13.64 from a previous time of 3:18.31. She finished fourth in the event with teammate Mallory Jeffrey in fifth.
Fresh off best times in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Alexis Clark did it again this week. She swam a new personal best of 36.09 from a previous 36.99 in the 50 yard and a 1:22.76 in the 100 freestyle which her previous was a 1:23.49. Both of these accomplishments have helped her only become a stronger swimmer by finishing seconds faster.
Savannah Nowalk joined the crew with a personal-best in the 50 yard freestyle, coming in first place with a time of 31.85 seconds. She also earned first place in the 100 yard breaststroke. Teammate Keeli Roe had a best time in the event with a third place finish of 1:54.19.
Greene also saw some strong finishes in other events. Alexa West and Lilly Funnell finished in the top two positions for the 100 yard backstroke while Roe, West, and Natalie Specht swept the boards on the 500 yard freestyle.
Greene looks to keep up their strong swimming and are still eager to earn their first win of the season. They are on the road against Chenango Forks on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
