BOYS BASKETBALL: Greene falls short to Whitney Point
WHITNEY POINT – On Tuesday evening, the Greene Trojans boys basketball team started the 2022 season off against Whitney Point. In the non-league matchup, the Eagles fought back in the second half to win 58-54.
Greene took a 29-28 lead into halftime, but Whitney Point’s 18 points in the fourth quarter was enough to seal the victory.
The Trojans were led by Jaden Eroshevich with 14 points, including two three-pointers in the fourth quarter. Teammate Joel Vielandi also hit two three-pointers in the final quarter and finished with 10 points behind William Dunlap’s 11.
Whitney Point’s James Craft paved the way with 17 points and made a team-high four three-point shots. Behind him was teammate Owen Standish-Warpus with 11 points and Nate Furman and Holden Maslin tying with nine points.
Greene (0-1) hosts Gilbertsville-Mount Upton (GMU) on Friday at 6 p.m.
