OXFORD – After an exciting game-winner against UV, the Oxford Blackhawks were back on the court on Thursday against GMU. Oxford’s 44 points in the first half led them to a 72-44 victory.
The win was a well-rounded team effort as everyone who was active on the Blackhawks roster scored at least two points in the contest.
Leading the way was senior John Rovente with 20 points as Caden Rifanburg, who scored the game-winner against UV, finished with 14 points and Donovan Rickard had 13.
GMU’s Brian Wilson led all scorers with 27 points while Devon Hartwell had 16 in the loss.
Oxford (2-1) has been thankful to start the season with four straight games in front of their home crowd. They will host Delhi on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
