BAINBRIDGE – On Tuesday, the Greene Trojans and the Bainbridge-Guilford came into the MAC league game with a steady start to the season. Both teams went into the matchup undefeated, which sparked a competitive game. Greene came out on top in a close 37-25 win.
Greene pushed through, scoring 20 points in the first half while the defense held the Bobcats to 11 points at halftime. BG was hoping for a comeback in the second half, but Greene outscored them 17-14 in the final 16 minutes.
Leading the way for the Trojans were the dynamic sister duo of Payton and Abby Yahner. Payton scored 19 points and knocked down a three while Abby had eight points. They also worked together to help build the comfortable lead at halftime before finishing strong.
For the Bobcats, Peyton Umbra scored nine points while Celeste Baldwin had seven in the loss.
