BAINBRIDGE – The first round of action in the Kazalski tournament was held on Tuesday, where the Bainbridge-Guilford Lady Bobcats defeated Downsville 62-18 in front of their home crowd. They will move on to the championship to face Harpursville, who won their game against Tioga, this evening at 6 p.m.
The Bobcats were dominant on both ends of the court. Their offense excelled with 28 points right in the first eight minutes of play. You can say the quarter belonged to BG’s Celeste Baldwin who knocked down five three’s and scored 17 of her total 24 points.
While Baldwin had a stellar contest, teammates Jayslin Henderson and Johnna Henderson both scored 13 points as Peyton Umbra knocked down a three with five points on the day.
Downsville’s McKenzy Brown single-handedly led her team with 16 points, including six of eight free-throws while teammate Courtney Murphy scored two points in the loss.
