Sheriff's Office arrests suspect in Greene burglary
Chenango County — On December 28, 2022 a Port Crane resident was arrested for Burglary in the Third Degree, Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, and Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Division arrested Nicholas K. Visser, 37, of Port Crane following an investigation of a reported burglary in the Town of Greene.
It was found that Visser, along with two unknown male suspects, entered a building on private property in the Town of Greene, and stole nearly $40,000 in property from the building. Most of the stolen property was recovered at Visser's property in the Town of Port Crane.
Visser was processed and released on an appearance ticket. Visser is to appear in the Town of Greene Court at a later date.
Visser is charged with two counts of Burglary in the Third Degree, two counts of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, and one count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted with the incident by the Broome County Sheriff's Office.
