BOYS BASKETBALL: Greene with back-to-back wins, defeats Oxford
OXFORD – After defeating Downsville on Monday, the Greene Trojans boys basketball team took on neighboring Oxford in a MAC showdown. Greene maintained a 64-37 victory after a hot start.
Greene posted 26 points in the first quarter to run with a 36-16 lead at halftime and were not done in the second half. Greene continued to outscore the Blackhawks 28-21 in the final 16 minutes, even with Oxford fighting to make a comeback.
Greene secured the victory all in part by Jaden Eroshevich, Liam Flanagan, and Joel Vielandi. Eroshevich, who recently returned to the lineup, was in charge with 24 points, knocking down three three-point shots. Flanagan also had three three’s in his 13 point affair as Vielandi finished with nine points.
Donovan Rickard and Caden Rifanburg both had nine points in the loss.
Greene (7-4) will be on the road against Sidney on Friday while Oxford (2-8) will have some extra time to prepare for Afton on January 17. Both games will begin at 7 p.m.
