GIRLS BASKETBALL: Greene remains perfect, defeats Delhi
GREENE – After watching MAC opponents fall to Delhi, the Greene Lady Trojans didn’t see the same challenge as they stood their ground with a 39-26 victory. Even with facing a little bit of adversity early on, Greene powered through to come out on top to continue their undefeated campaign.
Greene’s defense was superior once again with holding Delhi in the second half, including blocking 10 or more shots and only allowing four field goals in the final three quarters.
The Trojans struggled offensively at the start but with their defense maintaining control, they were able to finish strong as a team. Cali Knapp knocked down three three-point shots to finish with 11 points alongside Payton Yahner.
Greene will take on neighboring Oxford on Saturday at 2:45 p.m. Before suffering a loss to Sidney, Oxford was also working on an undefeated season. It should be a great contest between both teams.
