BOYS BASKETBALL: UV unable to hold a tough Delhi

NEW BERLIN - The Unadilla Valley Storm boys basketball team knew they’d be in for a challenge against state ranked Delhi on Friday night. Delhi started off and ended the same way, quick and explosive with a 75-33 win, continuing their undefeated season. The Bulldogs have controlled the MAC league, where they haven’t met anyone who could match the same intensity that they have game by game.
UV did provide pressure on defense with several blocked shots, but could not stop Delhi’s Luke Schnabel from running the offense with 25 points. Delhi did play fair and put their substitutions in when it was necessary, but even those players were fierce.
UV tried to get back into the game in the third quarter with 15 points scored, but could not limit the offensive turnovers to produce more scoring drives. UV’s Trent Marinelli led the way with nine points in the loss as Tucker Cattanach finished with seven points off the bench.
UV will be on the road against Deposit-Hancock on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Scores by Quarter:
DA 18 23 21 11–75
UV 5 9 15 4–33
DA: Luke Schnabel 25, Angelo Krzyston 12, Andrew Liddle 7, Chuck Haight 7, Rocco Schnabel 6, Logan Nealis 5, Sam Davis 4, Luke Sanford 4, Tanner Bracchy 3, Noah Dugan 2.
