BASEBALL: Afton’s Ryan Wright pitches a one-hitter in win vs Sidney

SIDNEY – After a big shutout victory against Walton, the Afton Crimson Knights baseball team was back at it again on Monday with a 7-0 victory over Sidney. Afton got on the board early and kept going with nine hits on offense as Ryan Wright dominated on the mound for the second consecutive game.
Wright pitched a two-hitter vs Walton in the previous game. In Monday’s win, he improved as he only allowed a hit in the fourth inning and six other base runners reached on with walks before he retired the rest with 14 strikeouts.
Justin Reeve and Braden Sadlemire led the Crimson Knights offense with two hits each. Reeve drove in two runs, including an RBI double in the fifth inning. Tyler Kelly also drove in two runs in the win and scored two runs, including a steal of home in the seventh inning, where Afton tallied three runs.
Afton sits at 8-3 and hosts Jefferson Central on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
