SOFTBALL: B-G picks up dominant win over Walton
BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Lady Bobcats scored 24 runs on 19 hits in the big 24-9 win over Walton on Monday afternoon. B-G’s 13 run second inning helped led to an early conclusion of the game after Walton’s at-bats in the top of the fourth inning.
The Bobcats were led by Celeste Baldwin who tacked on four hits in all four plate appearances. She had two singles and two doubles while driving in a team-high of six RBIs in the win. Teammate Gabriella Cuozzo drove in four runs while contributing with multiple hits along with J. Henderson, Danica Park, Breanna Casey, and Madisyn Peck.
Brenna George earned the start on the mound for B-G while Alessandra Cafasso and Cuozzo pitched in relief. The trio allowed just three earned runs on one hit and struck out five batters in the win.
B-G continues to impress with an 11-4 record that stands third in the MAC behind Deposit-Hancock and Greene. Their next game is this afternoon against Greene for the first round of the MAC Playoffs at 4:30 p.m.
