B-G Lady Bobcats drop to Notre Dame

ELMIRA – After a comeback win against Groton, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats softball team faced Notre Dame in the next round of the Section IV, Class C tournament. B-G suffered a 12-0 shutout loss, eliminating them from the postseason. Despite the elimination, the Bobcats finished strong throughout the 2023 season with a 12-8 record.
The Crusaders got things going in the first inning with two runs before getting into a groove, scoring in all but the fourth inning. They scored a game-high of six runs in the fifth inning and held B-G to only two hits in the contest.
Alessandra Cafasso lead-off the top of the fourth inning with a single to left field and failed to get into scoring position as the next batter grounded into a double play. Another positive at-bat came from Tori Suda with the other Bobcats hit, pinch-hitting for Jordyn Parsons. Elmira Notre Dame did not walk any batters, but the Bobcats were able to also reach base on errors made by the defense.
Celeste Baldwin and Gabriella Cuozzo pitched on the mound for B-G, where Baldwin struck out one batter in the struggle.
