NHS Girls Swim earns first win of season vs Sus Valley

NORWICH - After finishing fourth in Section IV, Class B last season, the Norwich Purple Tornado girls swim team is back.

As a slightly smaller team this year, Norwich didn't let their size get to them as they pulled off the 63-60 win over Sus Valley. This meet was Norwich's 2023 season as well as home opener.

Norwich won two of the three relay races with Sus Valley earning the victory in the 400 yard freestyle. The Sabers also took both the 100 yard backstroke and breaststroke wins.

Julia Llewellyn, along with newcomer and seventh grade Alex Shtrauch, Aurora Shtrauch, and Olivia Palmer achieved the victory in the 200 yard medley relay while Nina Kman, Palmer, Alex, and Mikayla Sastri finished on top for the 200 yard freestyle relay, clocking in at 2:00.63.
