NORWICH – Alvogen employees met September 15 in East Park to take part in their yearly community clean-up project.
This year marked the 10th year the company has closed its facility for a day, bringing out their employees to work side by side to clean and prepare Norwich for the upcoming Fall and holidays.
Norwich Pharmaceutical and Alvogen Associate Director of Human Resources Luke Murphy said, “Today is Alvogen Day. This is the event we do across the globe at all of our Alvogen locations. We work with between 20 and 26 different organizations.”
“We do everything from landscaping to cleaning, painting lampposts, organizing, and fixing sand boxes; we do a variety of projects. It's a day we look forward to every year; giving back right here in Norwich,” he added.
Murphy said he is very fortunate to live in this community. It's always a community of giving and making sure everyone is taken care of and that he couldn't imagine living any place else.
Employees gathered, enjoyed a little breakfast, and then divided into groups for specific ablution throughout community.
Alvogen is the parent company of Norwich Pharmaceuticals, a corporation located in 35 countries with about 2,300 employees globally. Norwich Pharmaceutical originated in the City of Norwich in 1887.
