Field Hockey: Greene bounces back with win over Holland Patent

HOLLAND PATENT - The Greene Trojans field hockey team got back on track Friday with a 5-1 win against Holland Patent. The Trojans now fall back to being even on the season with a 3-3 record.

Greene pushed through with 15 shots on goal with Abby Yahner, Josie Dutcher, Mattie Harrington, and Claire Flanagan performing well to pick up the victory.

Abby got the Trojans on the board and had two goals in the first quarter. One of Abby's goals was off a pass from Mattie Harrington. Mattie scored her own goal in the second quarter to give Greene the 3-1 lead at the half.

In the second half of play, Josie Dutcher pushed through with two goals, including one in the final minute on a penalty stroke. Josie's first goal was assisted by Claire Flanagan.

Braelyn Blakeslee stood her ground in goal for the Trojans, where she allowed just the one goal in the first half and made four saves.

Greene (3-3) returns home on Saturday, September 23 to host Baldwinsville at 10 a.m.
