Go forest bathing at Rogers Center

SHERBURNE – Join certified forest therapist Linda Lombardo for a gentle stroll through Rogers Center woods at 10 a.m., September 30 , as she shows the health benefits of forest bathing. You’ll meet at the Rogers Visitors Center about 15 minutes prior to the start of the walk.
Linda was the first certified Forest Therapy guide on Long Island, NY, back in 2017 when only a few people knew what forest therapy was. She quickly built relationships with local arboretums and preserves, because they recognized how different her expertise was and how essential it was to the community and care of the land they stewarded. To date, she’s led over 220 customized walks for the public, individuals, and private groups and organizations.
Linda will guide you around Channels Marsh, Boundary Trail, and more. Along the way, you’ll stop with invitations to connect with Nature. Invitations may include poetry, forest art, or a sit spot to reflect. This 90-minute walk ends with a forest tea ceremony, something that could have been foraged on the land. Autumn brings spices and earthy scents to this herbal infusion.
For those interested, it’s recommended you wear outdoor-appropriate clothing. An essential oil insect repellent will be provided, or feel free to bring your own. You’ll meet at the Rogers Visitors Center about 15 minutes prior to the start of the walk.
Registration is required and space is limited! Call (607) 674-4733 or email ellen@friendsofrogers.org to secure your spot.
