Golf: Oxford defeats Sidney on Senior Night

OXFORD – The Oxford Blackhawks golf team returned home on Monday evening to face Sidney. Oxford handed Sidney their second loss of the season with a 212-224 victory.
Prior to the match, the Blackhawks honored its 2023 seniors. Congratulations to Ethan Hodge, Jerry Hornbeck, and Sylas Emerson for their dedication to the Oxford golf program. All seniors got the start in the top six as well.
Sophomore Bennett Paden continues to shine for the Blackhawks as he shot an overall low of a 37. Kyle Benjamin finished with a 41 as Ethan Hodge led the seniors with a 44. Jerry Hornbeck and Sylas Emerson both tied with a 45. Degan Endress also shot a 45, but as the team’s sixth golfer.
Sidney’s scores ranged from a low of 42 to a high 47.
Oxford improves to 6-4 on the season with about three matches left to go before sectionals. The Blackhawks head to Hancock on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.
