The Friends of Rogers invite you to experience the marvelous renovations of the Sherburne Inn at this seasons most exciting event.
The Fall Festival will be held from 6-10 p.m. on October 14th at the Sherburne Inn located on NY Route 80 and sponsored by The Rogers Center as they celebrate their inaugural Fall Festival fundraiser.

Dine and dance to the music of Big Band Sounds while sipping on Maple Mojitos and enjoy the impeccable building restorations. To register go to festival.friendsofrogers.org. Participants names will be at the door; no tickets are actually required.

Friends of Rogers Marketing Coordinator Jeremy Fetzko suggested attire for the night be of bright festive colors.

Fetzko described the menu as a mouthwatering ensemble of white bean and roasted red pepper bruschetta, tomato and basil bruschetta, smoked salmon on pumpernickel toast points, mini meatball marinara, spinach and cheese stuffed mushrooms, roast beef and horseradish crostini, choice of three pastas and sauces, and grilled chicken and sautéed shrimp.

“Plus a silent auction will run throughout the night,” he added.

The event is capped at 150 reservations and tickets are $60 per person. All funds will go to Rogers Center toward the continued improvement and long term sustainability.

Fetzko explained 50% of ticket cost being tax deductible. The other half of the ticket price covers entertainment, food, drinks, etc. and the other half is donated to Rogers.

In June 1917, The Sherburne Inn opened in a bustling upstate New York community, and for the next 87 years, served Sherburne as the hub of social activity on the villages prominent corner. In 1980, the Inn was listed on the National Register of Historic places; part of the historic district.

In 2002, the new owner closed the Inn and for a decade the building sat abandoned. In 2012, a demolition threatened to ensue with the consideration of building a gas station.

The Save The Sherburne Inn Restoration Project (SSRIP) came along to purchase the building and halt demolition. SSRIP is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit, that made great progress restoring and renewing The Inn since its 2015 groundbreaking.

Efforts of SSRIP's volunteer board of directors, funding from state and local grants corporations, and contributions from individuals in 39 states around the US, along with being awarded more than $2.5 million of the $4.5 million costs for the project, enabled the non profit to complete Phases 1 and 2 of the
4 phases.

This even would not be possible without the support of our community sponsors NBT Bank, NBT Insurance, Oliver's Campers, Norwich Rehab, Preferred Mutual, Kerry Bioscience, Labella, and Burrell's Excavating.

Friends of Rogers is the nonprofit that runs the Environmental Education Center programs.
