Golf: Greene, Oxford, and B-G compete in the MAC tournament

MARATHON – After doing well in the regular season, the three Chenango County golf teams headed to play in the MAC tournament held at Maple Hill in Marathon. Greene, Oxford, and Bainbridge-Guilford all had at least one golfer named to the MAC all-star list.
Sidney won the tournament over Greene with the lowest score of a 450, but Greene came out on top of the MAC league this year, finishing with a 11-1 record. Oxford finished third (470) with B-G in fourth 499.
Greene’s Parker Flanagan led all golfers with a 74 while Oxford’s Bennett Paden shot an 82 for second place. Flanagan’s teammate Lincoln Youngs capped off with an 86 in the fifth spot. All three golfers had a successful year and were also named first team all-stars.
Bainbridge-Guilford’s Michael Lipani received a second-team all-star honor.
Greene and Oxford will await team sectionals in the spring.
