SHERBURNE — The Crescent Moon, a shop specializing in crystals, handmade crystal jewelry, and handmade wood and crystal moons will be hosting their first annual psychic and holistic fair from 10 am. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 14.

The free, outdoor event will be held at the store, located at 7321 State Highway 12 in Sherburne, and will feature a total of nine psychics offering tarot, mediumship, animal communication, and other types of psychic readings, as well as 12 vendors selling everything from crystals to candles, art, tie dye shirts, tea, and more. Food will be available for purchase from Deli-licious food truck.

Details on psychics and vendors attending the fair can be found on the 1st Annual Holistic & Psychic Fair Facebook event page.

The shop is also approaching its first year in business, and owner Jessica Brainard said she's planning an open house celebration for next month.

"I'm going to have a psychic here doing readings and stuff like that too, and I've got someone who wants to bring in some doTerra and crystals and stuff," she said.

Brainard opened the store in November of 2022, after she began making crystal jewelry with sterling silver and oxidized copper.

"I got into the crystals and then I like to do crafts. So I was like, what can I do with the crystals and crafts that I could sell? So I started making little necklaces and stuff, just simple ones," Brainard explained.

From there her crafting grew to include her own unique product: wooden moons with wire wrapped crystals.

"I really like moons, so I got online on Etsy and Google and everything. I looked at moons and they're not very nice looking moons. So I talked to my dad, he came up with a design for me and it went from there," Brainard continued. "He designed it and he actually makes the wood and stuff. then I do the sanding, poly, and the crystal wrapping."

She converted a building used for storage into The Crescent Moon, which is filled to the brim with her handmade moons and crystal jewelry, as well as loose stones, candles, tarot and oracle decks, and more.

Additionally, Brainard is supporting the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation through the month of October with the sale of pink crystal bracelets. She said 40 percent of the proceeds will go to the foundation.

The shop is open Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Brainard said she plans to extend her hours for the holiday season.
