Fire departments welcome community during fire prevention week
The Norwich Fire Department will hold an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Oct. 12, at the NFD station located at 31 East Main Street. The Sherburne Fire Department, above, held an open house on Wednesday night. October is Fire Prevention Month and October 9 to October 15 is Fire Prevention Week. The theme is “Cooking safety starts with you. Pay attention to fire prevention.” Fire crews welcome engagement with the public and will be on hand to answer questions, show off equipment and provide demonstrations for attendees.
