Boys’ Basketball: OV falls to DeRuyter

DERUYTER – After battling out with Oxford in the first game of the 2023 season, the Otselic Valley Vikings traveled to DeRuyter on Monday. DeRuyter started the contest strong, which set them up with the overall 65-38 advantage in an intense game. After being down 38-15 at halftime, OV stepped up the pace in the final 16 minutes, but second half efforts were not enough.
The Vikings were led by senior Braeden Davis who knocked down two three’s in his leading 22 points. Lukas Schieferstein finished with seven points while Caleb Loomis had five points and two rebounds in the loss.
OV (0-2) looks to bounce back as they host the next three contests, including Thursday’s game against OnTech Charter at 7 p.m.
