Sen. Joseph Griffo presents Senate Empire Awards to Chenango County businesses

CHENANGO COUNTY – New York State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-C-Rome, recently visited several Chenango County businesses and presented them with New York State Senate  Empire  Awards.  
The Empire Award recognizes businesses that are leaders in their industry, use innovative methods or products, increase jobs and economic growth and make significant community contributions.
Businesses honored by Sen. Griffo included: Golden Artist Colors, 188 Bell Road, New Berlin. Preferred Mutual Insurance Company, 1 Preferred Wy, New Berlin. Service Pharmacy, 6 N Main St., Sherburne. The Sherburne News, 17 E State St., Sherburne.
“I greatly enjoyed visiting these businesses and presenting New York State Senate  Empire  Awards,”  Sen. Griffo said.  “These businesses, and the many others like them, have created jobs, spurred economic growth and development and have made many important contributions to their community and beyond.” 
During his time in the Senate, Sen. Griffo has advocated for and supported the needs of business owners and employers throughout his Senate District and New York State.
“We have to do more in New York to improve the state’s economic climate and to make it more business-friendly,” Sen. Griffo said.  “This can be accomplished by lowering taxes and energy costs and reducing regulations. I will continue to be a strong voice in Albany for taking such action and for our businesses so that they can grow, create jobs and be successful in New York State.”
