Scam Alert: Sheriff warning over fake Social Security Office calls

CHENANGO COUNTY – The Chenango County Sheriff's Office has received complaints of fraudulent phone calls from subjects acting as agents of the Social Security Office.
The Social Security Office will not contact you by phone and ask for personal information.
The Sheriff's Office wants to remind residents to be careful who they are giving personal information to over the phone and to verify who they are speaking with before giving personal information.
