GREENE – The Unadilla Valley/Norwich bowling team faced MAC league opponent Oxford/Greene on Friday, where the Storm took the overall win on both the girls and boys side. It wasn’t easy by any means as both teams allowed Oxford/Greene to pick up one game. However, UV/Norwich swept the two-game series.
Brynn Grant led the Storm girls with a 564 series with a 216 in her second game. Andie Mucha finished behind her with a 558 series, including the team’s highest of a 225 in her final game. Oxford/Greene’s Brianna Fowlston had the highest series all-around with a 571. Her best game was a 216 and along with Danica Fowlston’s 236, the Blackhawks took the first game 874-829 against the Storm.
The Storm boys were led by Dawson Robinson with an impressive 614 series. He bowled the team’s highest 231 in the first game and a 225 in his second game. Jacob Prentice followed with a 579 series with a 202 in the second game. Nick Flynn led the Blackhawks with a 591 series with a 224 in the second of three games. Flynn (211) and Logan Yaddow’s 206 in the second game helped take the 948-825 advantage to pick up one point in the match-up.
UV/Norwich hosts Hancock on Tuesday, January 23 at 3:45 p.m. while Oxford/Greene travels to Hancock on Thursday at 3:45 p.m.
