GREENE – Coming off a win against Oxford, the Greene Trojans boys’ basketball team returned home to take on a tough Sidney team. Greene was much prepared for this match-up to achieve the close 64-57 victory. The Trojans are rolling on a five-game win streak, which all games played this season have been close, setting a competitive MAC basketball season all-around.
Greene came out strong for the first half with posting 19 points in the first eight minutes alone and limiting Sidney to just five points. However, Sidney strived in the next two quarters, which only pushed Greene to remain consistent. Greene held the Sabers to just nine points in the fourth quarter to limit any other big runs to hold on to the victory.
Jaden Eroshevich, Joel Vielandi, and Trevor Ketcham led the Trojans’ offense in double-digit scoring. Eroshevich paved the way with 18 points, including 10 points in the first quarter as Vielandi followed with 17. Ketcham scored 16 points in the win.
Greene improves to 4-0 in the MAC and 6-3 overall. They sit in second place in the league behind Delhi. The Trojans start a four-game road trip on Saturday against Chenango Forks. The game is scheduled for a noon tip-off.
