Girls' Basketball: B-G drops to Sidney
BAINBRIDGE - After two big wins in their previous games, the Bainbridge-Guilford Lady Bobcats stepped into a tough MAC contest against Sidney. B-G dropped the contest at home 54-39.
While B-G has been limiting their opponents, the tables shifted this time. The Bobcats were held to single-digit scoring with posting their best 16 team points in the final quarter. By then, Sidney had already clung to a 47-23 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Both teams did show their strengths at the foul line. B-G made 11-of-22 free-throws to put them at 50 percent on the night. Sidney only missed two attempts as they went 12-of-14.
B-G stil had power from their three top scorers, whose names are mentioned following every game thus far. Johnna Henderson led the Bobcats with 13 points as Marissa Mayo laid down three three's to finish with 11 points. Jayslin Henderson had 10 points as Peyton Umbra and Tori Suda settled with two points. Danica Park made a free-throw to round out the scoring.
B-G sits second in the MAC Division II standings behind Greene and are 6-6 overall. The Bobcats host Unadilla Valley on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. and will try to revenge the loss they suffered back in December.
