Bowling: UV/Norwich rolls on, defeats Hancock
NEW BERLIN – Coming off a win against Bainbridge-Guilford, the Unadilla Valley/Norwich bowling team was back at their own Lake Street Lanes on Monday against Hancock. The Storm girls swept the boards while the boys allowed Hancock to take the first game, but got the overall victory.
Phalen Hill and Brynn Grant paved the way for the Storm girls, who won the contest by a score of 2842 to 2013. Hill had the team’s high series of a 607 with a 208 in her second and a 211 in her third game. Grant followed with a 602 series with a 226 in the first game.
The Storm boys shifted leaders on Monday as Tyler Bates dominated with a 700 series with a 224 in the first and a 286 in his second game. Dawson Robinson finished behind him with a 666, including a 235, a 221, and a 210 in his games. UV were out bowled 1076-1029 in the first game, but achieved the 3149-2906 victory in one of their toughest matches of the season with multiple bowlers on both sides bowling a 609 or better.
UV/Norwich travels to Afton this afternoon at 3:45 p.m.
