Girls’ Basketball: UV sweeps series vs Harpursville
HARPURSVILLE – After hosting Harpursville for senior night last week, the Unadilla Valley Storm girls’ basketball team traveled to take on the Hornets on Monday. The Storm swept the two-game series with a dominant 58-29 win, which is their fourth win in a row. UV sits in second place behind Greene with a strong 5-2 divisional record. Things have been looking up for the Storm late in the challenging season.
UV, who swept the series against Oxford and now Harpursville, remained steady throughout Monday’s contest. The Storm continued to see strength from its two leading scorers Natalie Crandall and Jaiden Schrag. Crandall stayed consistent throughout all four quarters and finished with 20 points as Schrag set herself up with a strong second half. Schrag excelled with 12 out of her 18 total points in the second half, which was the best playing efforts for the Storm on the night as they posted 37 points (17 third quarter and 20 in the fourth).
Adrienne Hodge and Kora Johnson both had eight points while Emmalyn Montgomery added four points in the win.
UV (7-11) heads to Bainbridge-Guilford to close out the regular season on Friday at 6 p.m. where they look to sweep the series as well.
