Boys’ Basketball: Greene falls to Chenango Valley

CHENANGO VALLEY – The Greene Trojans boys’ basketball team knew going into Wednesday’s match-up against Chenango Valley would be another intense game as it was early in the season, but anything was possible.
The two teams squared off in the opening round of the Section IV, Class B tournament, where Greene moved from a C to a B, due to this year’s state classification changes. Chenango Valley outrun Greene early on to take a dominant lead and advanced with an 80-54 victory.
The Warriors excelled at the start with posting 47 points in the first half, which left Greene at a stand still, trying to make a big comeback. While Greene remained consistent throughout the contest, efforts were not enough and they could not slow Chenango Valley down.
Jaden Eroshevich paved the way for the Trojans with a best 31 points, hitting three three-pointers and going six-for-six at the foul line. He also scored 12 points in the third quarter. Trevor Ketcham followed with 12 points as Joel Vielandi added six points, Kloden Rapp with three, and Will Dunlap was limited to two points. Eroshevich averaged about 15.2 points per game in his final season.
Great season, Trojans and best of luck to seniors Jaden Eroshevich, Will Dunlap, Ryan Milk, Colin Colgan, Joel Vielandi, Trevor Ketcham, and Braeden Goerlich. Greene finished the 2023-2024 season with a 11-7 record.
