Local bowlers compete at States

SYRACUSE – The 2024 NYSPHSAA Bowling State championships were held on Saturday, March 9 at AMF Strike N Spare Lanes in Syracuse with the boys rolling off in the morning and the girls in the afternoon.
Dawson Robinson represented the UV/Norwich bowling team for the boys as Jacob Prentice was there as the alternate bowler. Brianna Fowlston proudly respected Oxford/Greene with UV/Norwich’s Phalen Hill as the alternate for the girls.
The Section IV boys’ team took fifth place with 6407 points as section 11 won the states title. Dawson Robinson came away in 14th place and tied with section six’s Robert Kozlowski with 1307 points. Dawson rolled his highest game of a 258 in the first of six games total.
Section IV’s girls’ team also came in fifth place with a total score of 5896 with section six winning the title. Oxford/Greene’s Brianna Fowlston finished her senior year in eighth place at states, where she was grateful on making the official team this year after being an alternate last year. Brianna achieved a final score of a 1266 with her highest game of a 237 in the first of six games.
