Motorcycle rider killed in Sherburne crash
SHERBURNE – On Sunday, March 17, a Sherburne man was killed after his motorcycle crashed along State Route 12B in Sherburne.
According to the New York State Police, the operator, 26-year-old Derek P. Leinbach, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Emergency crews from the Sherburne Fire Department and EMS responded.
Police reported an investigation had found that at about 12:24 a.m., “a motorcycle was traveling southeast on Route 12B when for an unknown reason it veered off the road striking a sign post, which caused the operator to be ejected off of the bike.”
