Tennis: Norwich wins Monday’s home opener vs Waverly

NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado tennis team hosted Waverly in Monday’s home opener. Norwich, who defeated Windsor and dropped to Chenango Forks on the road, picked up the 7-0 shutout against Waverly. Norwich sits at 2-1 to begin the 2024 season.

Anthony Pomares shutout Paxton Grover in two 6-0 sets as Kris Deuel defeated Hayden Larson 6-1 and 6-3 for the second singles. David Lawson closed out the third singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Nathan McEwen.
