Softball: Norwich falls to Sus Valley
NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado softball team took on a tough Sus Valley Sabers team on Wednesday evening, dropping 19-1 in five innings. The Sabers scored multiple runs in the second, third, and fourth innings, including an 11-run fourth.
Despite being no-hit, Norwich plated one run in the bottom of the fourth as Loralee Brown reached on an error during her bunt, moved to second and third on passed balls, and scored on an error. Norwich reached base on three walks, which allowed Caitlin Wetterhahn to steal second base.
Wetterhahn struck out three batters in the loss.
Norwich (0-9) stays home to host neighboring non-league opponent Sherburne-Earlville on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
