Softball: B-G wins the SFCU Tournament; defeats Sidney and Norwich

ONEONTA - The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats, along with Sidney and Norwich, played in the SFCU Tournament held at All-Star Village in Oneonta. B-G defeated both teams to win the Tournament and improved to 13-1 on the season. Sidney also defeated Norwich in the second game of the day 13-1.

B-G won the close game against Sidney 3-2. The Bobcats plated three runs in the first and that was all they scored and held on to win with the Sabers scoring two runs in the third. Danica Park had an RBI on a sacrifice fly as an error brought in the other two runs. Gabby Cuozzo recorded 21 outs with 10 outs being strikeouts while allowing the two runs on four hits and walked none. Breanna Casey also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

B-G defeated Norwich 6-1 with Casey adding two more hits, along with Alessandra Cafasso, who went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Brenna George led the team with three hits. B-G got on the board in the first on Cafasso's RBI double before Norwich tied it up in the top of the second off a line out RBI by Madalyn Quattrocchi. Kerrigan Reid and Shaelyn Rice had back-to-back hits to start the inning, the only hits for Norwich in the game off strong pitching from George and Cuozzo.
