Norwich and Otselic Valley school election and budget results
CHENANGO COUNTY – School districts in Chenango County held their budget and Board of Education (BOE) votes for the 2024-25 fiscal school year on Tuesday.
Norwich City School District
The Norwich City School District's proposed $47,355,524 budget and tax levy increase of 2.2 percent passed, with 344 in favor and 133 against.
Guernsey Memorial Library's proposed $1,276,000 budget passed, with 334 in favor and 137 against.
The NCSD Board of Education had three open seats, for three-year terms, and four candidates. Richard O’Hara received 374 votes, Karen A. Sastri: 359, Brian Reid: 337 and Tameka Lieb: 214.
There are also two seats for library trustee and two candidates. Patricia B. Giltner received 407 votes and Jane Clement 392 votes.
Otselic Valley Central School
The Otselic Valley Central School 's proposed $13,583193 budget and tax levy increase of 3.99 passed, with 141 in favor and 45 against.
The transportation proposal to buy two school vanS passed with 135 in favor and 52 against.
Collection of tax for the library passed with 109 in favor and 76 against.
The Otselic BOE had one open seat. Richard Rubright received 96 votes, Betty Robinson: 86
Kirsten Spear: 2 and page Paige Warren 1.
The was an open seat on the library board with Kristen Spear receiving 158 votes and Cheryl Loomis: 1.
