NORWICH — The NBT Bank Free Summer Concert Series kicks off this Thursday, July 11 with a performance by Eric Lindell at 7 p.m. in Norwich's East Park.
"Our first one right out of the box is Eric Lindell, so that should be a fun show," said Chenango Blues Association President Eric Larsen. "It’s just a great family- and community-friendly way to spend a Thursday night."
A blend of West Coast rock, Gulf Coast R&B, hard country, and Memphis soul weaves together to create Lindell's unique American roots sound.
Lindell has been honing his skills since his teenage years, before moving to New Orleans in 1999 to pursue a career in music where he discovered inspirations like Stanton Moore, Johnny Vidocovich, and Ivan Neville.
Since then, Lindell has released numerous albums, had his music featured on television soundtracks, and became a regular performer at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Upcoming shows in the NBT Bank Free Summer Concert Series are The Iguanas on July 18; James Hunter Six on July 25; Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds on August 1; The Garcia Project on August 8; Blood Brothers and Los Blancos on August 15, beginning at 6:30 p.m.; the Sam Bush Band on August 22; and Keller Williams on August 29.
