Oxford golf tees off new season with win over Hancock

HANCOCK – The Oxford Blackhawks golf team opened its 2024 season on a high note as they traveled to Hancock’s French Woods and earned their first win of the season. Oxford picked up the 244-271 victory.

Junior Bennett Paden, who made his mark at individual sectionals last May, led the team and all the golfers with an all-around low of 35. Sophomore Degan Endress followed with a 44 as senior Kyle Benjamin shot a 45. Fellow senior Abby Denz and junior Blake Barrows both shot a 60 to round out the team scoring with Nic Richette getting the nod at sixth golfer to have a 67.

Hancock’s scores ranged from a low 50 to a high 64.
