Norwich Golf participates in the 29th annual DiNunzio Tournament

ENDICOTT – Fresh off Wednesday’s win against Chenango Valley, the Norwich Purple Tornado golf team participated in the 29th annual Nick DiNunzio Memorial Golf Tournament, held at En-Joie Golf Club. Norwich came in fifth place with a total score of 419 while Maine-Endwell scored the low of 395 to win the tournament out of a total of 15 teams.

Horseheads’ Jack Fesetch won as the overall medalist with a low of 72. Norwich’s Brevin Bennett wasn’t too far off, only two strokes with a 74 to finish third behind M-E’s Blaise Brixner’s 73. This performance is right after the seventh grader started off his varsity debut with a team low 38 against Chenango Valley.

Freshman Matthew Brunick tied for eighth place with Union-Endicott’s Ryan Schappert with a 77. Senior Julian Smith ended up in a three-way tie for 23rd place with a 84. Gavin Burrell and Michael Brunick both tied with a 92 for 51st place. Senior Jacob Dowdall rounded out the team with a 74th place finish out of 92 golfers as he shot a 100.
