Greene golf tees off season with a victory vs Sidney

GREENE – After winning the MAC last year, the Greene Trojans golf team teed off a new season on Tuesday against its rival Sidney. Both teams have battled it out throughout the last few golf seasons, swapping MAC titles.

Greene started out strong with a core group of returners to defeat Sidney 206-222.

Parker Flanagan, who came off a NY State Championship start back in June, where he finished 77th out of 99 golfers, shot one-under par with a 34 on Tuesday. Trent Drew had a strong return to the Genny with a 36 as Lincoln Youngs shot a 41. Keaton Browning finished with a 45 as Carter Williamson capped off the team scoring with a 50. Logan Roth also shot a 58.

Sidney’s scores ranged from a low 41 to a high of 48. The Sabers also broåght extra golfers, which allowed Keegan Evans (49) and Nick Holt (57) to earn some playing time.
